Obituary for Dennis Andrew Tarasevich

Dennis Andrew Tarasevich
Dennis Andrew Tarasevich- a Husband, Father, Grandfather, Friend, Gentleman and a Scholar. Denny leaves behind his wife of 51 years, Nancy Tarasevich. The two shared quite an incredible life of love. They married, raised their children for several years in northeastern New Jersey, moved to coastal Southern California for a business opportunity, and retired near family to Chandler, AZ. Together, they raised daughters Katrina Delsante, Amy Myers, and son Nick Tarasevich. His children brought him great joy as he proclaimed them to be excellent people, marrying loving spouses (Joe Delsante, Russ Myers, Teri Tarasevich), and giving him and Nancy 8 wonderful grandchildren: Juliana Delsante, Natalya Delsante, Zach Delsante, Emily Myers, Andrew Myers, Luke Myers, Cannon and Kamryn Tarasevich.

In Denny’s formative years, he grew up in and around Clifton, NJ. He’d often tell those who played pool with him that his great skills were as result of a misspent youth. As a young man, Denny attended Stephens Institute of Technology and then graduated Drew University before gaining his Master’s in Business from NYU. Denny had an entrepreneurial spirit and dynamic professional experience including salesman, marketer, television producer, and small business owner. His spirit for being uniquely different than others and finding the bright side of anything was unparalleled. He loved a good value and could most often be seen wearing a nice, subtle Hawaiian shirt.

As a father, Dad did not miss a soccer game, was an excellent preparer of vegetables, and quick to give advice or encouragement. If medical advice, he’d often quip that he should know because he, “was once a sturgeon”. Yes, Dad’s gift was humor. Some bad, some good Dad humor but, all in the spirit of keeping life light-hearted. Dad was ever mindful to show love through his concern, asking to give hugs all-around, and through his care of Nancy.

Like a fine wine, Denny seemed to get better with age despite his body failing him at a congruent rate. He was witty and sharp of mind until the end. He was Nancy’s best friend, confidante, and full-time caretaker as she battled debilitating health issues. He showed those around him true love through his humble care of Nancy. Dennis kept up with life as long as his body and his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ allowed him to.

We are confident Dennis is in Heaven, smiling down upon us. He enjoyed reading obituaries, learning about others, and being on the right side of the daisies to do so. Now that he is not, those who knew him would tell you that Dennis was one of the good guys. He will be missed and never forgotten. We love you Dad because, “You are the best!”
