Obituary for Charles Mack Von Roeder
Charles “Chuck” Mack Von Roeder, age 73, passed away at home in Gilbert, Arizona on December 24, 2017. Chuck was born on July 8, 1944 in Alta Dena, California to Ira Dean and Hubert Von Roeder. He was raised by his Mother and stepfather, Eugene Borg.
Chuck is preceded in death by his parents, Hubert Von Roeder, Ira Dean Wofford Von Roeder Borg Pollack, stepfathers Eugene Borg and Maurice Pollock, and brother, Lonnie Von Roeder. He is survived by his wife, Iona Dease Von Roeder of Gilbert, AZ., son, Coleton Von Roeder of Tempe, Arizona, three nephews, one niece, several great nieces and nephews, as well as cousins in Arizona, Colorado and California.
Chuck attended Metropolitan State University (Metropolitan State College), Denver, CO. Throughout his adult life, Chuck was an over the road truck driver, driving both for trucking companies and as an owner operator. He would dedicate his free time to his art work, painting landscapes and seascapes. During his retired years he devoted time to the family pets, two dogs, Rocky and Bently as well as cats, Snoopy, KT, CJ and Grady who were his constant companions during the time of his illness.
Viewing was held on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at the Falconer Funeral Home, Gilbert, AZ. Graveside services were at the National Cemetery, Phoenix, Arizona.
Pallbearers included Lana Peebles, Kelly Boyle, Mark Dease, Nathan Earls, Zach Von Roeder, and Dale Lynn.
