Kimberly Hoppa was born June 24, 1969. She was raised mostly in Tucson and shared her younger days with 4 siblings. Kim is the only daughter of Cynthia Selznick, aka “Bonnie” to all her family and close friends. She graduated from High School in Tucson. In December 1984, Cynthia married Steve Selznick and now Kim had a new stepfather. Both adored her, but neither Cindy or Steve were prepared to raise a teenage daughter, and Kim spent several years training us. It took a while but Steve became “Dad” for most of the past 33 years he has been married to Cindy.
Kim started in college in 1986 and after a year decided she wanted to work rather than attend college and was subsequently employed by the CircleK company as a clerk in one of the CircleK stores. She gradually worked her way up to become a store manager in Tucson.
Kim’s store became the #1 store in her district. At that time, she then married another CircleK manager. CircleK was in the process of implementing an information management system in their stores. Kimberly was selected to become the training manager and Kim and her new husband both spent the next 18 months installing and training CircleK personnel. Kimberly spent almost 31 years with CircleK, was well regarded which lead to her subsequently being promoted to the executive staff. She was widely acknowledged for her dedication and competence in the organization and was greatly admired for her accomplishments and care for her fellow employees including those who worked with her and for her.
Her marriage produced two children who survive Kim. Son Scott, Jr. and daughter KC who are now young teenagers. Kim has many relatives who are her peers but was especially close to Edward Valdez, Valerie Acevado, Michelle Valdez, and her godmother Darlene Castillo, as well as her aunt Pamela and her step brothers Jonathan and Marc Selznick and their wives and their 5 children. She has a large circle of friends in the Chandler/Phoenix/Arizona territory who have joined to celebrate her life.
She fought a heroic battle with cancer for the last 5 months of her life and left us and her significant other Ian Potton on February 21, 2018.
